In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This is a hard delete: your usuals, photos, and profile are permanently removed.
Only to help you find friends who already use Usuals. Contact phone numbers are hashed locally on your device — Usuals never receives the raw numbers. You can skip the contacts step and still use the app.
Yes. Usuals only requests location when you're actively using the map or dropping a pin — not in the background. You can deny location access in iOS / Android settings and still browse usuals, view friends' feeds, and message.
A friends-only usual is invisible to anyone who isn't on your friends list — at the database layer. If a friend shares a friends-only usual link with someone else, that link lands on a "this usual is friends-only" card without disclosing any details.
Email [email protected] with "PRIVACY" in the subject and we'll send you everything we have on you within 30 days.
Friend matching by phone needs both of you to opt into "Let friends find you" (Profile → Settings). If you've both done that and matching still fails, send us their handle or phone number at [email protected] and we'll investigate.
Open their profile and tap the ••• menu → Block. Blocking is bidirectional and immediate — they can't see your content and you can't see theirs.
Yes. Usuals is free. No subscriptions, no upsells — we cover costs with non-intrusive ads in the feed (see below).
Yes — occasional non-intrusive ads appear in the feed through Google AdMob. They sit inline as cards you can scroll past. No pop-ups, video pre-rolls, or full-screen takeovers.
We don't sell your data, and AdMob never receives your usuals, friends, messages, contacts, or photos. It uses your device's advertising identifier to show and measure ads.
To get non-personalized ads: on iOS, decline the tracking prompt (or change it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking); on Android, turn on Delete advertising ID in Ads settings. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Open the usual and tap ••• → Report. Reports route to our moderation queue and we review them quickly.
